Long-distance hiking at eye level with Austria's highest mountains
275 km – 14,000 meters of altitude and 17 stages – you have to master that and much more on the panorama trail of the Hohe Tauern. On this long-distance hiking trail you move through an almost untouched nature and on legendary trade routes. After a 4 to 7 hour hiking day, you have the opportunity to spend the night in the most beautiful accommodations in the region. The trail leads from the Krimml waterfalls to Lake Zell and then on via Rauris and Gastein to the valley of huts to Hüttschlag. The entire trail opens up breathtaking and unique views of the highest mountains in Austria. Along the way are numerous natural spectacles, worth seeing exhibitions, picturesque national park places and attractive excursion destinations. The use of cable cars or practical shuttle services at the stage finishes as well as a bookable luggage transfer offer maximum comfort.
The signposting is uniformly regulated on the entire long-distance hiking trail with green additional signs. To find your way even better, the touring app "Erlebnis Nationalpark" is your ideal companion on the Hohe Tauern Panorama Trail. The app includes a topographical hiking map and all stage descriptions as well as information about huts, viewpoints, inns and leisure facilities. It can also be used offline.
