Water march!

Krimml Waterfalls

In Salzburgerland, at the end of Upper Pinzgau, you’ll find Europe’s largest waterfalls– the Krimml Waterfalls. Here you can feel, marvel at and experience the incredible force of water up close. The waterfalls drop an incredible 380 metres, yes, this is a natural spectacle of superlatives.
Thanks to the Austrian Alpine Club, there is a well-maintained trail here leading uphill for some 4 km past numerous viewpoints. Along the way, you’ll get up close to the waterfalls time and again – a very special kind of refreshment on hot summer days.

At the valley mouth of Krimml, at the end of Pinzgau, you’ll find this incredibly unique attraction. The enormous masses of water roaring down into the valley day in, day out, lead across three levels. Every second, an average of 5.6 m³ of water crash down and, as you can imagine, that is incredibly much.
Not only because of the irrepressible force of the water, the fabulous panorama, but also to experience the refreshing mist which has a positive effect on health, some 400,000 visitors come to Krimml annually. This attraction is among the 10 most-visited in Austria.
