Bauern mit Leib und Seele
"In Hollersbach, drive in the direction of Sonnberg, always following the road and the signs - until you can go no further." It is not far along the narrow road partly through the forest up to the Sonnberg - and yet once you reach the top, you have the feeling of leaving everything behind. Get out, let the brilliant view of the valley and the Hohe Tauern take effect and arrive.
"The way is worth it," also say the guests of the farm store at Scharlernhof. "At the garden door, they usually take the first photo, then they peep into the open hatch of the stable door and when they then enter the farm store, the joy is visibly evident to them," says Bettina Astl, the young farmer at the Scharlernhof.
The native of Rettenbach used to work in the office at an energy company. She met Peter and moved in with him on the farm at Hollersbacher Sonnberg. In 2014, they took over the farm from his parents. "I never thought of this, but today I can't imagine a different life," she smiles. Hans Peter's parents Gretl and Peter still lend a helping hand, supporting the young wherever they can. They are all farmers with heart and soul - they help each other, everyone does everything.
Many guests come to the Scharlernhof, but also locals. "We supply regional, home-made products that everyone should be able to afford." Regional means for them, what corresponds to the respective region. Depending on where there are which basic materials - there they should then also be utilized. Like the products from the region Hollersbach - Mittersill - Stuhlfelden. In her opinion, the individual communities benefit from each other because each place is independent and has its own qualities. Just like their products.
